Mining and Exploration

Geoforce provides a coherent strategy for definition and detection of mineral resources. We have considerable experience working in mines, and on mine sites. Our key focus areas include Brownfield and Greenfield mineral exploration, second phase mineral exploration and ore body delineation.
A summary of the geophysical techniques available for mineral exploration applications are as follows (but not limited to):
- 2D, 3D and borehole Reflection Seismic - for delineation of structures and orebody's at depth.
- Radio Imaging and Seismic Tomography - for delineation of orebody's between boreholes at depth.
- Airborne Electromagnetic Surveying - SKYTEM is an approach for high definition detailed cross-sectional mapping for iron ore, nickel laterites, bauxite and nickel sulphides. SKYTEM can also be used to map groundwater and paleochannels.
- Time Domain Electromagnetics - surface, in mine and downhole (DHEM) using the Atlantis Fluxgate Probe. The Atlantis Fluxgate Probe has superior range in the delineation of large, high grade world class ore bodies which may be missed using coil probes.
- Borehole Radar (BHR) - reflection, transmission and tomography for detailed structure and ore delineation.
- Magnetics - surface mapping.
- Radiometrics - shallow surface to assist with soil mapping.
- Electrical Resistivity Imaging (ERI) - surface and downhole resistivity imaging with a multi channel system.
- Induced Polarization (IP) - 2D and 3D surface and downhole surveys for exploration of disseminated targets. IP provides cross sections of the changeability and resistivity of the subsurface.
- Hyperspectral Imaging - processing and interpretation services for this surface mapping technology.
Geoforce also provides modelling studies for all of the above techniques to test which techniques would work the best for a clients target resource and host rocks.
