Company Profile

Image of sunset.

Geoforce is a Western Australian based geophysical contracting and consulting company with offices in Perth and Kambalda. Our company employs up to 30 people, with our consulting and contracting arm operational in Australia, Africa and Asia.

Geoforce specialises in high definition geophysical surveying, where rapid characterization of the subsurface beneath a lease area, project, mine or development is required as an adjunct or partial replacement of drilling and excavation. We also have considerable experience in working in mines, and on mine sites. Key focus areas are second phase mining exploration, ore body delineation, geotechnical mapping and environmental mapping.

Geoforce is problem rather than technology focused. As the imaging capability of individual geophysical approaches is site specific, we offer a range of different approaches to ensure an optimal solution.

In addition to undertaking surveys, we offer a bureau service for consultancy, data processing and training, as required. We also have a strong background in the development and implementation of new technology in the mining and geotechnical sectors, and participate in R&D projects.

Between them, the three Owner/Directors of the Company, Greg Turner, Eric Wedepohl and Justin Anning have 50 years experience in the application of high definition geophysics. Greg and Eric have considerable experience in the mining and industry. Justin specialises in the development and implementation of innovative and efficient geophysical surveying systems.

Recent Projects and Clients

Ongoing Minerals exploration and resource definition for major and junior mining companies (contracting and consulting):

  • brown fields nickel and base metal definition;
  • iron ore delineation and characterization;
  • nickel laterite delineation;
  • uranium exploration

3D Seismic Surveys: for resource delineation at depths.

SkyTEM Minerals Surveys: for rapid delineation of conductive orebody's below cover.

Example of some recent infrastructure & environmental projects include:

Australian Marine Complex at Jervoise Bay: On behalf of DHW in WA, scanning for cavities which could impact on heavy infrastructure;

Gorgon Project: All major onshore geotechnical and environmental geophysics

Mitchell Freeway extension: Use surface wave seismic over continuous strip of several km as part of Coffey pre-tender study to help define rock strength.

Alkimos: Use surface wave seismic and ERI over site of proposed earthworks as part of Coffey pre-tender study to help define rock properties.

Dam Foundations: Assist Watercorp to characterize dam foundation as part of GHD study.

Land classification near Henderson: Assist LANDCORP in reclassification of land near Henderson.

Assess rock strength under various proposed new mine plant sites.

Classify salinity, hydrogeology and fresh/salt water interfaces for various clients using ground geophysics to date, and now using the SKYTEM airborne geophysics system.

Mapping paleo channels for various mining, infrastructure and environmental applications: using ground geophysics to date, and now staring to use the SKYTEM airborne geophysics system.
